ohh that is awesome!! i live an hour north of LA, but i definitely wish i lived closer! yeah the weather is perfect, although LA gets hotter than santa barbara, but where i live the weather is consistent every single day!

and california is the most gorgeous place to live (in my opinion)

I'll actually most likely be stayin up in Sacramento near my family so I can figure out a roomate situation to get down to LA. I have a couple friends down there I'm considering but I'd like to settle in a bit & get used to the area first.& yes California is beautiful, I cannot wait! Is it much cheaper an hour north? What exactly is that?

oh god no! haha well at least not in my opinion!! i live in santa barbara, and it is roughly $1300-1700 for a one bedroom apartment. most people i know have to have roommates just because of the prices. it's such a small area and so many people want to live here!

i heard an hour north of me, so that's more like 2-3 hours from LA is much cheaper, but i don't want to live up there. i like being farther south, since everything i like is in oxnard or LA area

ok lady, listen good ^_^ i am a california girl through and through and heres my advice: (i was born in long beach, raised in sacramento/LA & now im settled in the bay area). I say that if you are looking for bargain living, then the best bang for your buck is going to be in the surrounding "crappy" cities near the big ones.... if you want to be close to san francisco though, then youre prolly SOL cause that is some of the priciest real estate in the country (i live in san jose which is fine, there are pockets of million dollar shacks and very reasonable apartments, just gotta look). also, LA is pretty gross. like, silverlake and hollywood are GREAT for visiting. i love all my friends and family there. but trust me when i say that it is not a great place to live. LA is brown and smoggy and the traffic is unlike anything you will ever experience........ santa barbara is the bees knees but HELLA expensive. Where in Sac will you be? Aaah thank you for all the tips girl! Is the Bay Area southern or what?haha Sacramento isn't nearly as expensive though right? My parents will be moving there at the end of the month so I'll most likely stay there untlll I learn the areas better. I'm not sure the exact area there though. I'm hoping I meet some cool people to move out with eventually. Otherwise I do have my friends in LA if I wanna go there that is. San Francisco would be amazing to live in though. Is it more than LA? How far is LA from San Jose? Actually how far is it from the beach more importantly. Cause I def wanna live by the beach. Well keep in mind I am coming from DC. Which is quite smoggy & has very bad traffic. But yes I have been to Cali * LA was def bad with traffic, can't argue that!haha THanks again girl! This helps so much!

hey tessa! if you really wanna feel the joy of california you should drive to West hollywood, obviously everyone knows about it, its where everything nice is! we have everything. its by beverly hills, and santa monica promendade! which you will love! you can also take a walk to bum central VENICE BEACH, its dirty but they have the best vintage shops. when it comes to malls i cant name, topanga mall is good, but del amo is good to in torrance!
